Rob,
Thanks for your message way back in 2009. We appreciate your comments and value the expertise of Board Member Greg Huber who wrote the article that appears on our website. Join HBFF of PA and network with fellow historic barn enthusiasts at our annual meetings and historic barn tours in June.

Sally,
Thank you for your inquiry and my apologies for our slow response. I am certain Board member Bob Ensminger is familiar with the barns you mention in your e-mail. I will share this with him and Board member Greg Huber and see what they might have to offer. My other suggestion is to purchase Ensminger's book on Pennsylvania Barns and perhaps join us for our annual barn tour. This year's annual meeting and historic barn tour will be in Franklin County. The planning committee is putting together a terrific event. If you haven't done so already, join HBFF of PA and receive our semi-annual Forebay Post newsletter to get all the news and information about our non-profit organization's activities.

I am Sallie Fisher ne:Kube, grandaughter or Sallie Matilda Berger Kube. The Berger Barns in Shartlesville were owned and built by her grand and great grandfathers - Daniel and George Berger respectively. My husband's families are Hartman and Fisher from the Oley Valley. I would love to have more information about all these properties and to more closely identify the Switzer Berger Barn in your article. Since we livein NY State your information is priceless. Thanks for the informative sight.

Hello. I read your discription of the Berger Switzer Barn with much interest as I have had the good fortune to be living and working in a 1840 Switzer bank barn since 1984. To be able to compare ours with the Burger barn was most insightful in recognizing and understanding the qualities of the design and constuction of these fine buildings. Our barn was quite derelect[although sound] when we purchased it,and it is an ongoing project. Thank for your work. Rob Haney Penn Township Centre Co. PA
